Autumn is the season when weather gets cool and gentle wind breezes, also the time maple leaves turn red from green. In this October, To inherit his spirit, with our respect and admiration to premier Zhou, the class one grade eleven, as well as the Zhou enlai class, paid a visit for three days to his hometown, Huaian.

We visited the house premier Zhou was born and lived in his childhood. We could feel the atmosphere of local city and literacy. As we paced along the stone path, yards and kitchen he once used and lived, we seemed to be brought to the era he lived, when is filled with revolutionary enthusiasm. On the north of his home, there is the memorial of Deng yingchao. By the guide’s explanation, we learned how Zhou enlai started his revolution career and met Deng yingchao for the first time, who later married with him. Hardship and romance accompanied with Zhou enlai’s life, which includes the great long march and the foundation of the people republic of China.

As more and more maple leaf student are studying abroad nowadays, Mr. Zhou has made giant impact on us with his own characteristics. Not only His goals of studying, his pursuit of Marxism implementation in China, but also his sympathy to people and dedication have all influenced us. In the year of two thousand, twenty-three percent of thirty-nine thousand abroad studying students chose to come back to China while in twenty eighteen, this figure nearly tripled to seventy-eight percent within two decades. These days we are all challenged by the COVID-19 and how can we plan our future and make contribution to our motherland under this circumstance?

I believe that today, maple leafers should have larger aims, better courage and greater outlook regardless of their professions and abilities.

Just as what chairman Xi responds to the Chinese students who study in Moscow university, I quote that”Teenagers are supposed to acquire dreams, competence and the sense of responsibility, so that out country and race would develop better and better. We all need to struggle hard in order to achieve the dream of China.” The pandemic might be something that confuse us but we shall finally overcome it like the way Zhou enlai dealt with anything that stopped him from studying for our country. In other words, We have no reason to be afraid.

We need to carry the honorable traditions of studying hard to better China and ourselves, just as how Mr. Zhou did in old days. Only by studying our predecessors’ noble spirits to reward our country, can we find the meaning of studying and living ultimately.

Our speech ends here, thanks for listening!
